World Bank Education Strategy

Ian Thomson writes: "The World Bank has developed a new Education Strategy. It was based on the catch phrase of "Education for All" and linked to the MDGs on Education, but now they have changed the focus to "Learning for All".

One important thing to comment on in the WB Strategy is a much stronger focus on the role of ICTs to achieve the education goals. 'incredible advances in ICT hold great potential for accelerating and making learning more inclusive, as well as improving the management and efficiency of education systems'.
The WB pages are chock full of interesting material about communications for development in Education and are worth a browse if you have the time. Start here (you can download a copy of the Strategy) and follow the links to FAQ about the Strategy and the Education Web site: http://bit.ly/iQUgJg
